Teagan- 4 months old

Time flies and Teagan is officially another month older. Her personality continues to blossom. We had her 4 mo check up. She is 16 lb. 8 oz (95%ile), 25 1/2 in. long (95%ile) and her head circ. is at the75th %ile.

The visit was crazy. I thought I was being smart by combining Maeve's 4 yo appt and your 4 mo. But 1 1/2 hrs into the visit in a tiny little room with Kaleigh there too, I knew I had made a big mistake. You cried for 20 min. before even getting shots, then Maeve started crying b/c she got 3 shots and Kaleigh (my little sensitive one) cried because everyone else was crying. O'well, live and learn!

You just rolled over 3 days ago for the first time and now you are doing it pretty regularly. You are such a big talker and get really loud squealing and screaming (so much that you usually spit up). You have a constant smile on your face except when you are hungry or tired and then watch out. Mama better be around or you will scream bloody murder!

You are starting to get into a schedule (when you get to actually sleep in your own crib) with a morning nap and 2 afternoon naps. You are going down around 7:30 pm and starting to sleep through the night after a feeding around 11 pm. Last night you woke up around 3 pm but put yourself back to sleep for the first time (YEA!). You "talked" for a while but never got really mad so I let you go.

You absolutely light up when Maeve and Kaleigh are around and will try your hardest to keep watching them wherever they move around the room. The intensity you look at all of us is awesome.

4 year old Maeve

What makes you you!

43 lbs (95%ile)

43 1/4 in. (90%ile)

-princesses and more princesses

-"I want alone time" I want privacy

-antaganizing Kaleigh or tickling her

-being extra sweet to Teagan

-hiding when you know you are doing something you are not suppose to (like nail polish or drinking soda under the table)

-rhyming words

-words that start with the same letter (snake, that's just like Sonja, you mama)

-dressing yourself (mostly dresses)

-knowing your address

-being able to write your own name

-morning cuddles (and coming into bed in the middle of the night)

-having to go to bed in mommy and daddy's bed since "Kaleigh talks too much"

-walking around shaking your bootie

-riding your bike

-remembering things from a year ago! (like our visit to Deepcreek, Minneapolis and Wrightsville Beach)

and soo much more. You are no longer a toddler but a little girl that is growing up quickly.

The 3 talkers!

Teagan keeps talking more and more. She is inspecting her hands and eating them all the time. Kaleigh's very into missing her grandparents. Everytime an airplane goes by, she says, Grandpa on that plane. Me not sad anymore. Me no miss him anymore. Maeve is all princesses and surprises me with what she remembers. Just yesterday she saw a ski lift on the TV and asked if we could go back on that which was from our vacation last memorial day! Crazy! I still can't believe she turns 4 in 2 days. But she will always be my Maevey baby!

Life with three (and a cute video of Teagan)

It is a crazy time in my life, I feel like the days go by so fast and I hardly have time to process anything. I want so much to remember all the little things, the silly phrases the girls say, the artwork they make and their favorite activities. Lately Kaleigh has been more clingy. It's hard to know if it's being 2 1/2 yo or because she is now the middle child. She definitely has her whine on! Maeve is mostly helpful and loves to be a big sister to Teagan but she is developing some serious four year old attitude. I realize now that Teagan is the easiest is many ways. She is contained and as long as I feed her, make sure she has a clean diaper and has something fun to look at, she is content. I have started working a little, seeing 5 private clients and would like to add more since IFH doesn't need me and paying for 3 in daycare doesn't make much sense. Plus, it seems a little overwhelming to get them all out the door for a full day of work and then come home and get them dinner and to bed on time. It won't last forever and I figure once Teagan gets a little bit older I will add more hours. Plus, I feel like this is the time we are the most flexible, no sports, school or other activities that interfere with us being able to take off and visit friends and family. I have to keep it in perspective and remember that I don't need to do everything and that our family priority is friends and family. I'd rather have time to go for a long weekend to Ohio, fly up to Wisconsin the see the grandparents or drive down to Atlanta to visit Annika than make a little extra money.

Mommy to be

Maeve and Kaleigh are very into playing

mommy and baby as well as doggie. As you can see, Maeve has been taking notes on how to feed her baby with her "booby bra" (the term both girls use for nursing...not sure why!) and Kaleigh is got walking her dog down. They are so funny to watch. (PS. Thanks for the matching tops Lolo.)

Teagan is 3 months!

She's getting more and more into a routine. I was totally surprise a couple of weeks ago when she started sleeping through the night, going down between 8-9 pm and getting up between 7-8 am then sleeping another 1-2 hrs. after feeding, but starting 3 nights ago she is back to waking up 1-2 times a night. Go figure! Maybe she's going through a growth spurt since she really needs to gain some weight (HA). She is all smiles and wakes up with a smile most of the time. She's really easy unless I don't feed her (still doesn't love getting a bottle and gives the bottle holder grief) or if I need to change her. She definitely isn't afraid of letting us know if she needs her diaper changed and two nicknames we have given her are "spit up monster" and "pooping machine", as the pictures demonstrate!
Other things that make her Teagan:
-beginning to really watch TV and will turn on her side and look over her shoulder to view it.
-loves to talk and socialize, especially with Maeve. They have whole conversations.
-reaching and batting at toys
-loves her play gym
-not crazy about the swing
-holds on tight to mommy while nursing
-laughs at peek a boo

Pictures

The days are so busy and the girls are growing. We met Gma and Gpa at the airport during their layover to Dallas for the Super Bowl (yea the packers won!). Daddy got to go watch it in person and it's just been us girls. I'm exhusted but the girls are so cute.
