Kaleigh is 8 mos, Maeve is 25 mos!

Maeve obviously is into her Grandma!

The girls swinging

On a wonderful April day the girls had so much fun swinging together. I was able to capture Kaleigh laughing and Maeve trying hard to learn her pronouns. She substitutes "you" for "me" such as "carry you," "hold you", and "push you". I kept trying to have her say "me", so she ended up saying "push you.....ME". It was way too cute!

A temper emerges!

Kaleigh definitely has more of a temper than Maeve did at 7 mos. She will just scream if she doesn't get her way but as soon as you pick her up she stops and is all smiles. It just makes me laugh to see the wheels turning on how to make mommy and daddy jump through hoops. She is such a happy baby otherwise. And she loves to eat, just like her sister. She still is not all that into rolling but continues to sit and is beginning to figure out how to move onto her stomach from that position. She is giving great hugs and very wet, open mouth kisses too.

Thunder!

Last night we had a thunderstorm as we were putting the girls to bed. We identified the thunder to Maeve and she was so intrigued. We all cuddled on our bed with the lights out and listened for it. Maeve kept making surprised faces and whispering"hear it?"....."it went away"...."bye-bye thunder", and when it came back she would get all excited again. Then later, after the girls were asleep, Kaleigh woke up and was crying so I went in the room to give her her paci. Maeve was still half asleep with her eyes closed but whispered "thunder thunder". Isn't it amazing to see the wonder of world through a toddler's eyes!

Happy Easter

We had a very low key Easter. Our good friends, Mike and Jeanette came over for a Easter Egg Hunt, dinner and to watch the Masters final round. Maeve had so much fun playing with Hannah and Cooper. The highlight of the egg hunt was the lollipops and Kaleigh's favorite toys are the plastic eggs.

A wagon ride

The weather has been crazy the past few days, almost 70 and then in the 30's. Today was nice so we went out for a walk. Kaleigh has spent the last 7 months in the Ergo on our outings but has just recently seemed ready to move onto bigger and better things. We tried the wagon which both girls loved! Maeve was very attentive to Kaleigh and made sure she was sitting up properly. Kaleigh talked the whole time. It is so much fun to see how much they enjoy and entertain each other. I hope they never forget that they are lucky to have a sister to watch their back!

Easter egg hunt

We went to an Easter egg hunt last week. It was a little cold and a lot windy, but Maeve had fun. She enjoyed the moon bounce and caught on to putting the eggs in her basket. She was busy telling me the colors of each egg, and the competitive person that I am, I had to keep reminding her to put them in her basket. She was terrified of the Easter bunny but did say "thank you" before we left!
