Maeve's 4 yo preschool interview

Maeve's first day of preschool interview

Kaleigh's first preschool interview

Maeve starts 4 day preschool

What a big difference between the end of last year and the beginning of this one. Maeve came home and was able to tell me all about her day, the face she made, the picture she painted, the book about the raccoon Mrs. Rose read, and the snack they had. She has so much fun and was excited to she her friends again. It's gonna be a great year!

Kaleigh's first day of preschool.

After much anticipation, Kaleigh was off for her first day at Mrs. Kannelly's class. She did awesome. It was very nice that I got to work and see her transition. She loved playing with the dolls, exploring the puzzles and books and making a happy face. We sang "if your happy and you know it" and "open shut them" and got to watch Princess, the classroom gerbil. She Kaleigh also loved running outside with her new friends. She already told me she "doesn't need me to come to preschool with her" while we were getting icecream to celebrate her success. My little girl is growing up!

My kookie KaKa is 3!

How amazing is it that she can already be three. She is just adorable and has such a sweet temperament. Although there is a little 3 going on, with whining and her trying to be defiant (it's so cute when she says "NO" and crosses her arms.....it's like we both know she doesn't have anything behind it!), in general, she is my peacemaker, crowd pleaser and very easy going. Some things that make her her!

-loving pancakes, french fries and chips (my carb girl!)

-"what happens if..." Her latest ongoing question.

-her long beautiful hair (which she doesn't like braided or brushed)

-reading, reading, reading!!! to herself and if anyone will read to her. Her favorite books are Little Ms. Birthday, Jimmyjon Jones

"I'm not ___(fill in blank for whatever Maeve is getting in trouble for)" (i.e., pushing, yelling, whining)

-Frequent visits from Yaya, her imaginary friend who seems to morph into a boy, a girl, a dog, a naughty person, a nice person or whatever she needs at the moment.

-size 10 shoes

-taller than Maeve at this age

-wearing size 4 clothes

-completely potty trained since a little after 2 1/2 yo, even at night

-my cuddle bug

-my jumping bean

-the way she walk...with her tummy out, arms swinging and head forward

-her fascination for boys vs. girls in terms of how they pee. Boys stand up, pee on trees, Girls DO NOT!

-her love for her taggie blanket

-her excitement for preschool

Moosecall 2011

Wrightsville Beach Vacation

August started with a great week at the beach with Gma and Gpa. We got to see all the Sullivans and spend some relaxing time in the hot weather! I got to go running regularly, which made me happy and Jon got some well needed R and R before starting his new job at Datatel the next week. Erin and Maggie watched the girls one night so the adults (Gma, Gpa, Jon and I) could go out for my birthday. Maeve and Kaleigh loved playing with Katelyn and Annalese. Teagan officially started crawling and ate lots of sand. All in all, it was a great week.

Oops! Teagan is 9 months

I never even got around to posting for her 8 months. However, she has made some great gains in the past 2 months but especially in the month of August. These include:

-learning to crawl at Wrightsville Beach (8/4/2011)

-pulling to stand in Moosecall (8/23/2011

-in fact, on 8/31 I walked into her room after nap and found her standing in her crib for the first time

-cutting her first tooth (8/17): I was sitting in the Mess hall feeding her and realized that she had her first bottom tooth. She didn't act anymore fussier than usual!

-clapping her hands (also happened in Moosecall)

-waving her hand and saying "aaaahhh", almost like hi!

-saying mama!!!! (finally)

-crawling like crazy, making a beeline to the stairs anytime the basement door is open

-always into what she's not suppose to be into; cords, shoes, anything small to put in her mouth (forget her toys that are all around her)

-she loves climbing under things: in Moosecall she was under the dining table all the time, at home she can climb up into the side table when the toy basket is moved.

-finally taking a pacifier (that happened in Canada too)

-eating lots of different finger foods: canned peas and green beans, mandarin oranges, bread, oatmeal and prune juice (yuk....but it helps her constipation), fish, basically you will eat anything but seem to prefer purees over the canned veggies, you also don't love prunes or sour foods.

-she is in size 12-18 month clothes

-her hair is finally long enough for a bow to stay in (at least briefly)
