Maeve starts preschool

Maeve started preschool this week. She was excited to finally go to her "new school", which we have been driving by daily all summer. It's a co-op so I was able to work the first day to help with the transition, although I think she would have been fine without me. In fact, her second day she was off painting before I had even said goodbye. She loves bringing in things to show Ms. Kelleher. Today she got to bring in her new princess book that she finally earned by sleeping in her own bed each night. (that's a little bit of a stretch since she typically ends up in the bunk bed room and I have to go lay with her in the middle of the night to get her to go back to sleep in the bunk bed, but at least she is not insisting on us falling asleep with her in our bed anymore.) I think she is ready for the bunk bed and Kaleigh wants to sleep in her toddler bed, so we might be switching things around sooner rather than later in preparation for baby juicy.

Anyway, it is great to see how excited Maeve is for school and all her friends and it will be nice to have some quality time with Kaleigh.

Wrightsville Beach 2010

What a great visit with Gma, Gpa, Aunt Tiffany and our cousins, Madelyn, Nicholas, and Jackson, as well as our extended family. We missed Uncle Brian but had lots of time practice our swimming and beach skills. Maeve was able to jump in and swim across the pool and Kaleigh loved sticking her face in the water and blowing bubbles. I am not sure Kaleigh knew what to do with her cousin, Jackson, who loves to wrestle. (one of the big differences between boys and girls!). Maeve especially misses her cousin Madelyn and talks about her on an almost daily basis.

August Minneapolis trip

We had a great visit to our cousin's, Tommy and Nadia's, house. Lolo and Papa were able to make it over from Wisconsin and Uncle Al and Aunt Teener were great hosts. We did lots of fun activities including a trip to the zoo, a lake swim and an adults day out to the Twins game (thanks Lolo and Papa!). Maeve especially loved Uncle Al and the girls loved their cousins swing set in the backyard. We hope we get to do it again soon.

Kaleigh turns two!

Some of Kaleigh's favorite phrases, since she is such a talker are "he ick me" (Finn licked her), "do self", "no thank you", "eed me" (feed me), "carry me", "elp me" (help me). She loves singing happy birthday after her party (she actually had 3; one at the pool with her neighborhood friends, one with her cousins in Minneapolis, and one at home on her real birthday. We had to encourage Maeve to let Kaleigh open her own presents and we continue to have to remind Maeve that these presents are actually Kaleigh's.

the last 8 months

It's been forever since I have blogged. So much has happened, I can't even begin to summarize it all. I guess getting pregnant and being sick for 4 months didn't help anything, but I will do my best in the next few blogs to recapture some of the amazing and fun memories we have created in 2010.
