Kaleigh- 2 1/2 years old

My beautiful Kaka, or Kookie Kaka, My jumping bean are just some of the names I call her. She is so two currently, with frequent tantruming and whining but all the while looking adorable! Here are a few of the things that make her her:

(my number one favorite) "me love you mama"

-

trying so hard to keep up with the big kids (i.e., wanting to watch Scoobie doo b/c Maeve does)

- read me book pease

- laughing out loud at the Dofs (Dwarfs in Snow White)

- being scared at the witch in Snow White

- sharing your taggie blanket with Teagan (b/c Teagan really wants it!)

- "tarry me" and "pit me up"

- "me no want nap" (then crying before settle down to sleep.....EVERY time)

-loving swimming

-especially loving gymnastics (hanging from the high bar, hopping from star to star, crawling like a snake and going on the big balance beam) (It's also your only thing you say when we talk about your high of the day "me go dymntics")

-staying up reading and talking every night -piggy back rides and "sack of potatoes"

Teagan's new nickname- Mini Maeve or Kinda like Kaka

Can you guess who is who? They are all about 5 months old!

-Kaleigh with the octopus

-Maeve with her diaper on her stomach
-Kaleigh with the green shirt and hearts
-Teagan on her stomach with the pokadot bib

-Teagan with the pockadot fleece

-Maeve with the yellow ducky

Tell me what you think!

Teagan-5 months!

Another month has gone by. I can't begin to document enough so that I can remember and cherish all the little moments I share with all the girls. Here are some of the ones I can think of for Teagan.

-the way she wiggles and moves her arms all around while she is nursing, grabbing and letting go of my shirt

-the huge smiles she gives anytime she catches our eyes.

-the way she loves her octopus and is able to play with her toys

-how excited she gets that she can "sit up" in her bumbo and play gym and keep up with her sisters

-how she squeals and screams to get attention and keep it

-the way she sucks on the Ergo (and spits up all over it!)

-the way she snuggles her face into her blanket when she is falling asleep

-how hard she can cry when she doesn't get her way

Tonight was a tough night, Jon was out and I had put her in her crib, I thought asleep. She started crying but I was trying to get the other girls down so she kept crying. By that time it had been about 15 min. (I kept thinking she was gonna stop any second, she was so tired). At that point I figured I might as well let her go. Well, about 20 more minutes later, she finally stopped. How many nights will I have to do this till she is able to sooth herself? She is not a paci girl or a bottle girl. Somethings gotta give! It is really tough to know if she is ready, if I am ready and if it really will help her in the long run. The poor girl just doesn't get to sleep like the others did. With all our schedules, her naps get cut short or are on the run in the car seat. Even tonight, after taking a bath with Maeve and Kaleigh (for the first time, which she loved), she had to try to go to sleep with them yelling in the background. I was nursing her outside the bathroom, while the girls were still in the bath. (it was kinda cute, Maeve was busy pretending that Rapunzel was being captured by bad guys and Kaleigh was "scolding" her barbie and telling her "daddy was gonna get mad".)

Hopefully, it will work out and I didn't just let her cry for over 1/2 hrs. for nothing!

Great Wolf Lodge

We had a great time at GWL. Maeve loved every part of it and it was fun to see her be so independent. She went all over the place, down all the slides and especially loved the wave pool. It was really cute seeing her wrap her arms around Taylor to go tandem down the kiddie slide. Maeve was also hooting and hollering all the way down the big blue slide which she rode down on the inter tube with me or Jonny. She got air more than once and thought that was the best. Kaleigh was a little more tentative but enjoyed blowing bubbles and sticking her rear in the water spouts. By the last day, Kaka was so tired, all she really wanted to do was sit by the pool and eat (Both girls were starving from expending so much energy running around the day before.). Teagan did awesome in the ergo, enjoyed getting wet and looking around at everything. It was so loud in there, all the white noise made for some good sleeping for her too. Jon and I loved the Hurricane ride and hanging out with Matt and Tina at night. It looks like it could easily become an annual trip.

Grandma Sugar's visit

Grandma Leiter decided to drop by for the weekend. The girls had a great time with her and Jonny and I used it as an excuse to go out with friends both Friday and Saturday night which is unheard of now of days (THANKS GMA!). For all those that are interested, the next time you are out, I recommend trying a "Little Guinness"; it's very yummy. We spent the days going to the farm to see the new babies (I am even more grateful that I only had one after I saw mama pig feeding all her babies!) and petting the horses (Maeve's favorite....she is now asking for riding lessons). As always it was a fun weekend.

Our first stomach bug

I figure we are very lucky that in 4 years, we have never had a stomach bug hit our household. Well, our luck finally gave out this week. I started the trend with it Monday night, then Gma who was visiting over the weekend, came down with it on Tuesday during the day. Finally, Kaleigh was up most of Tuesday night, throwing up. She is a trooper, immediately after each time, she would be talking happily and running commentary on what I was doing to clean up. In fact, right before she would throw up she would be saying "me not have tummy ache. Me tummy feel good". Today, she is slowly recovering on the couch watching lots of Dora, Deigo and Strawberry Shortcake. Let's hope no one else gets it or my washing machine might officially give out!
